Three skateboards repurposed as shelves hold various items against a white wall, surrounded by green vines. The floor is wooden.
A creative 3 tier skateboard shelf made from used Birdhouse, Oneill and Ride All Day decks.

Recycled Skateboards Reborn

At FunktUpcycle, we’re all about giving forgotten objects a second life—and one of our favourite transformations is the humble skateboard.

Skateboards don’t just roll—they carry stories. From chipped decks to scarred grip tape, each board holds the marks of ollies landed, rails ridden, and footpaths explored. So when a skateboard reaches the end of its rideable life, we don’t see it as trash. We see potential.

From Kickflips to Coffee Corners

Enter the Skateboard Shelf—a free standing burst of attitude and function. Whether you place one in your bedroom, studio, garage or retail space, these shelves make an instant statement. They’re perfect for displaying books, plants, sneakers, records—or even your old skate trophies.

Each Recycled Skateboard is cleaned, sealed if needed and mounted with custom hardware that keep things solid, while still showcasing the raw edge and wear of the original ride. You get utility with a story, and a design edge that can’t be replicated.

Take a Seat—The Skate Stool is Here

Looking for something more grounded? Our skateboard stools combine upcycled decks with steel, timber or reimagined industrial frames to create seriously cool places to perch. Think hallways, pop-up event stools, or chill-out corner seating that sparks conversation.

Made from 2 decks, showcasing skate culture history. They highlight skate brands, turning a once-thrashed board into a bold centrepiece.

Why Skateboards?

  • Built to last: Skateboards are crafted from tough 7-ply maple—perfect for structural reuse.

  • Each one’s unique: Scuffs, stickers and graphic wear tell their own story.

  • Street style meets sustainability: You’re not just buying furniture—you’re joining a circular movement.

For the Love of the Ride

At FunktUpcycle, we think design should do more than look good—it should mean something. When we rework a skateboard, we’re not hiding its history. We’re celebrating it.

Whether you’re a skater, a streetwear head, or someone who just loves a little urban grit in their space, our Skateboard Series brings authenticity, function, and upcycled flair together for one final ride.

Want your own board turned into a shelf or seat? We take custom commissions and love hearing the stories behind the decks.
